Last week we hit the air to get to Breckenridge for Dan’s wedding. All our flights went smoothly, and other than a ridiculously long shuttle ride up to Breckenridge, our travel was without hiccups. We DID have twelve hour travel days on Thursday and Sunday, but it was worth it to get to see Dan and Jenn surrounded by people who adore them.
Their ceremony was up above a reservoir with mountains rising up from its surface. The view was breathtaking! Bry and John had to pull Grandma down on her walker which was quite the bumpy ride for a lady turning 90 in a couple months, but she’s a tough one!
It was an absolute blessing to hear him give heartfelt and loving vows as well as a toast that had the women in our family in tears (a focus was on my mom and how she taught him to believe in the impossible–and ask for it!). As if that wasn’t enough, Dan has moves! Who knew? Their first dance was lovely and I heard people around the room remarking on their moves! Somehow they made a Justin Beiber song sweet too!
Good thing I was in charge of reception photos because I needed that camera in front of me during the mother son dance because I was sobbing. Sheesh.
Since we had Friday and part of Saturday before the shindig began, I got to spend a good chunk of time with my mom, John, and my grandma, PLUS Sam and Paul were there. That makes for a damn fine weekend. We got to get out and hike, right out of the door of the house we rented. Both days we got to sit in the house’s hot tub, and eat yummy food! We checked out town too. Breckenridge is amazing because the ski slope is RIGHT THERE. The gondola literally leaves from town. It is the town. I liked it.
We missed the pups a lot, but got some updates from Rachel and Ben who were kind enough to take them on REALLY short notice (since we take them everywhere, it only occurred to me the Saturday before that we had no plans for where they’d stay!).
