SC_0004Jeremy and Gretchen took off today to make the long, long trip back to southern Minnesota. It was so nice to have them here and they even brought their dog Fergus. He is stinkin’ cute and got along well with the poodles, even Nitsa who we accidentally left in the big yurt with them on Friday night. When we got up on Saturday, we found out that Nitsa had slept with Jeremy, Gretchen, and Fergus on the futon. Let’s just say that she got a lot of comfortable sleep, but the rest of them, not so much! What a stinker! Unfortunately, I had to drive to Marquette (2 hours away) to take my last Michigan licensure test on Saturday. It was at 1pm, so I had to leave at 10:30 and I didn’t get home until 530, just as Jeremy and Bryan finished up splitting every last log. Luckily, they rented a log splitter for the day and got it all done. I assure you that if you come here, we will not force you to work. I swear, even though so far we have put our visitors to work. They volunteered! Anyway, the guys had fun, Gretchen got all sorts of school work done for the week, and I got that test done! We took them out to the Michigan House for dinner and we all came home stuffed. It was a lovely weekend! Today I dropped the splitter off at Matt and Elsa’s so they could use it and took the pups to Maasto Hiito for a hike. It was beautiful and I remembered my camera, so here are some of my shots:

Now that’s what a wood shed should look like in October. Thanks so much, Jeremy!
