The stoves are all plumbed and the one in the new yurt has crystal clear glass, so its ambiance is amazing. We’ve only had two fires in it because we try to get by with just the other stove running.
Bryan has been busy, busy, busy cutting wood that has been down for years. The former owner planned to put in more driveway so it’d be a circle. He cut down some big trees, but never finished it. Bryan has been having a heyday cutting that wood since the Freybergs left. We now have piles of logs to split.
I have been busy trying to keep my head afloat at school. The kids have been awesome and I’ve never had more fun teaching satire and irony than I did this week with my 8th graders. I guess they’re at the perfect age to understand and appreciate sarcasm, snarkiness, and pointing out others’ foolishness.
The wind is gusting, blowing leaves to the ground all around us. Hopefully we’ll be able to keep some leaves for Jeremy and Gretchen’s long journey to visit us this weekend. Jeremy is one of Bryan’s oldest and most beloved friends, so we’re excited for the two of them to see the homestead in person after a long time of only seeing blog photos!
